      I would possibly use a few top directories for a brand new website in a niche market but other then that directory linking is more work then its worth. There are far more powerful link building strategies that actually produce real results. I would invest time into getting results that will not potentially penalize your website with Google.

        Post penguin I don't think directories are worth the time. Submit only to the top directories.
