As we talked on DP forums, in your case the best option will be social media marketing. Especially Facebook and Google Plus. Try to use "Facebook as Page" and be social as much as possible. Like other relevant pages, similar to your application, entertainment blogs and websites.

Is your app available in Facebook App directory?

By far this is a long shot, but there is no universal recipe for driving quality traffic, unless you try all and track the results with GA. Then you should concentrate on the systems that bring best results.

No doubt, you should turn your web app into Facebook app. The easiest way to make it viral and I think it wont be so difficult to do it.
