The Easiest Way to Gain Quality Facebook Likes

Gaining more 'likes' will probably make the biggest difference in helping your Facebook page rank high in the Graph Search, and getting quality 'likes' is the hardest part so I wanted to be sure to touch more on how to more 'likes' for your business.

b2ap3_thumbnail_1379574695_like.pngWarning: You don't want to purchase "likes" from any 3rd party source. There are a lot of companies selling fake "likes" for cheap. These "likes" won't help you in graph search.

So what's the best way to build a following on Facebook? There are several ways to get more 'likes” for your page.

Add a “like” box to your website

This is really easy to set-up.

2. Give people a reason to like your page (i.e. 'like our page and receive this free gift') and promote the special offer using Facebook ads

3. Create a video highlighting your special offer and pin it to the top of your Facebook wall.

Facebook used to let you use your 'like page' as your welcome page, meaning that when people went to your Facebook page they didn't see your “wall” until they 'liked' your page.

Now visitors see your “wall” first thing. So in order to drive their attention to your special offer featured on your 'like page', it's smart to create a short screencast video showing them exactly how to get your free gift.

After making this video, publish it in a status update and 'pin' it to the top of your wall. It'll stay pinned until you unpin it, which ensures that it's one of the first things visitors see on your Facebook page.

4. Add Facebook Comments to your website.

This is just as easy to set-up as the “like” box.

5. Email Signature

This is a no brainer. Make sure you have a link to your Facebook page from your email signature.

6. Print Media

If your business has any print media, be sure to place a “Like Us On Facebook” call to action in a prominent location and include your Facebook page URL.

7. In-store Display

Do you have a brick and mortar storefront? Every time a customer comes in presents an opportunity to gain one more Facebook “like”.

8. Tell Your Friends

You can do this by...

· Linking to your Facebook page from your personal profile.

· Share a status update from your Facebook page to your personal Facebook wall.

· Use @tag periodically when making a personal status update about your Facebook page. (i.e. @facebookpagename)

9. Let Fans 'like' Your Page via SMS Text Message

This is great for live events, radio or TV. People can like your Facebook page simply by texting “like pagename” to 32665 or whatever your country's text code is.

So for example, if you texted “like huffingtonpost” you'd be 'liking' The Huffington Posts Facebook page.

One downside to this is that only Facebook users that have a verified phone number attached to his/her account will be able to do this.

10. Invite Your Newsletter Subscribers

If you have a list of newsletter subscribers or customers, why not send them a friendly email letting them know about your Facebook page.

Works best if you give them a reason to 'like' your page!

11. Advertise Your Page

There are a bunch of different ways to advertise on Facebook but I'm only going to focus on two in this report to keep you focused.

To start advertising on Facebook, go to https://www.facebook.com/advertising .

The first step in setting up your ad campaign is choosing your destination. In this case, we want to promote our Facebook page so all you have to do is select the page you want to promote.

Next, you'll be asked what you'd like to do. There are 3 options here, but right now we want to choose “Get more page likes”.

Now we'll have to write up our ad. Facebook will automatically generate ad copy for you, but make sure it's what you want it to say. You can easily change the copy to say whatever you'd like.

When it comes to deciding whether or not to show your ad in the right sidebar or in the news feed (aka sponsored story), I recommend using the right sidebar when it comes to getting more 'likes'.

There is a time and place for sponsored stories too, but when it comes to getting more page 'likes', advertise on the right sidebar.

If you're a local business hoping to show up in Facebook's local search results you'll want your Facebook ad campaign to target people from that city only.

You do this in the section called “Create Your Audience”.

You can also target your ads by age, gender, interests, connections, education, relationship status and language.

After that all you have to do is set your budget and submit the ad.

Once you start building up a nice fan base you'll want to promote some of your status updates using Facebook's "promote a post" ad type. This helps to maximize engagement with your Facebook fans which in turn will help you rank higher in Facebook's Graph Search.

So what kind of status updates should you "promote"? Either create a special, limited time offer of some kind or promote an image that is likely to draw a lot of engagement from your targeted demographic.
