Crucial SEO Aspects to Focus On

When you first start learning about SEO and using it to optimize your website, you can feel overwhelmed by all of the different things there are to remember. The art of SEO can be very complicated and even SEO experts are continuously learning and improving their skills.

In order to make starting out a little bit easier, focus on a few of the most crucial aspects of SEO first so that the learning curve doesn’t seem so steep. Asking yourself the following questions will ensure that your website has a good start towards being optimized and you will be able to build on these foundations later:

If Your Website Accessible?

You can have the best SEO in the world, but if search engines are having trouble seeing your content because of errors with your code then all of your hard SEO work is going to waste. They will not be able to crawl your website and your pages will not be indexed or ranked. If you are not sure how to properly code your website, you should seek the help of a professional who can ensure that everything is done correctly.

Is Your Page Title Optimized?

If the keyword that you are targeting appears in the title of your blog post, this will improve the SEO of the page. Not only will having your keywords within the title cause Google to rank your site higher because it sees that your content is more relevant, it will also cause your customers to be more likely to click on your website over the other search results?

Why? Because when we ask a question on a search engine, we tend to be drawn towards the results which phrase the search keywords in the same way that we did. If your keywords are in the title tag, your readers will know that your website is exactly what they are looking for.

Do You Have a Meta Description?

When you do a Google search, look at the short snippet of description which is underneath each of the titles in the search results. This is the meta description and it also has a big impact on whether or not people click on your link. An SEO expert will know how to

The meta description should include the keyword so that readers know that it is relevant and it should also sum up the content of the page in an easy to understand and short explanation. Usually only 165 characters will show up, so be as succinct as possible.

Do You Have the Right Keyword Frequency and Density?

Keyword frequency describes the number of times that your targeted keywords appear within your webpage, and keyword density refers to the ratio of these words to the rest of the page.

Keyword frequency is the factor which affects your rankings, but keyword density is what makes the difference between web content which reads well and content which is super-spammy and repetitive. Also, if the keyword density on your website is too high Google can pick up on this and penalize your website’s rankings.

The ideal ratio is between 1-5%. How can you determine this? Take a look at the word count and then total the number of times the keyword appears. A 1% keyword density blog post which is 600 words long will have the keyword mentioned 6 times. If it is mentioned 12 times this is a keyword density of 2%, etc.

These are just a few of the most essential SEO aspects to focus first on when you are optimizing your website for better search engine rankings.
