Making the Web Responsive

People are using different devices to stay connected on the web. There are smartphones, tablets, iPhones and host of other platforms and therefore, it is imperative for every business organization to have a website that can render precisely in all these different devices irrespective of the fact that they have different screen sizes.

But achieving this is not that easy. It is highly challenging. More so because the screen size on each device differs, and the content size should be varying to adjust itself with the different screens. Another challenge comes with the advent of Smartphone technology. The users expect the screen to respond every time they wish to change the layout. And the content if not displayed properly in even one of the selected layouts is enough for the technology to lag behind its competitors. The solution lies in making the page design responsive.

What Is A Responsive Web Design?
That can respond back. This responsiveness is in terms of the used device and the layout that the user selects to be displayed. The page under question must fit perfectly well as to comprehend the content in its entirety. With a continuous arrival of various devices on to the internet market, it gets unfeasible to design an individual layout for each one of that. However, making the page responsive deals with the problem to a considerable extent.
There are a few important factors that can contribute to an efficient responsive design:

The various elements on the web page pertaining to the images, text and the layout on the screen, if flexible, can help solve the size problem. These elements when used on the desktop may display the page entirely. But when used on the mobile phones must have the scrolling option to ensure that the content is not missed out.

Filtered Content:
Having a limited content with the needed information displayed can suffice the page on a small screen device. However, it becomes necessary to provide the display and hide content options to ensure that the user in need of these has everything available on navigation. This information may be important, but the content simply needs to be prioritized before the page is designed to be used over the various devices. These options work in keeping the page on a small screen clutter free, while in parallel introducing the extra content through the show option button.

The Ease Of Use:
With more users using touch screen devices, it is important to consider the touch screen necessities and the ease of use while the users tap on the screen. An ample space, relatively bigger fonts and the simple layout are very vital for such users.

A responsive page lowers down the development costs for the page design by multiple times, because the page needs to be designed for every possible screen size just once. It works well with the various operating systems, since it is dependant solely on the screen size, irrespective of the technology used. A single web page fitting every device would have been excellent, but practically impossible to achieve the same for all the content in question. This makes the responsiveness of a page a mandate, rather than a choice.
