3 Ways to Keep Your Wordpress Site Ahead of the Curve

Wordpress has quickly become one of the most-used platforms to build websites with, and it’s not just by error, either. You see, Wordpress offers users the chance to customize their websites (and build them from scratch, essentially), which would not have happened otherwise. In fact, Wordpress gives anyone the chance to create beautiful and functional websites without the need for a web design or coding background. Since most people couldn’t code in Java or C++ if their lives depended on it, Wordpress offers all the bells and whistles of a nice site without having to slave through textbooks and what might as well be Chinese to most people. While creating and setting up your own personal Wordpress site is fairly simple, there are things you should know to take full advantage of your time. Here are three great ways to make your Wordpress stand out from the rest: Research What the Market is Using in Terms of Plugins If you don’t know what a Wordpress plugin is, start Googling right now. It’s essentially a way to enhance or tweak your Wordpress site, and all you need to download the plugin and upload it to your site directory. Done. It’s super easy....

How to Create a Blank Page on Your Wordpress Site

Being an owner and webmaster of a few different websites, I have come across many a new dilemma, problem and, with the help of others who are looking to do the same thing, I find solutions. With the many other webmasters out in cyberspace, there may be times when you want to create a page on your static Wordpress site, but it is very possible that you don’t want the theme you already have set for every single page. You may be looking for a “blank page” or a “blank slate”, if you will, that does not include a header or sidebars or anything else. The day came that I needed I wanted a blank slate…a blank page…and to Google I turned. I typed into the search bar “plugin to make a wordpress page blank” as I thought with the so many different plugins, there would be a way to find a plugin that would do what I wanted. After doing some searching through mages, this is the page that I found that was the most helpful in my “blank slate” journey. So did it work? Yes. Did it take some time? Yes. But in the end, I got it to...

WordPress Plugins to Develop Creative Environment for Writers

Today there are very few successful blogs that are single writer based. Majority of the top blogs have a number of writers producing content for them on regular basis. Inviting other bloggers and writers to become co-authors is a great way to expand one’s blog. Running a multi author blog can become cumbersome as you have to focus on a number of administrative tasks such as managing content, ensuring on time publishing, proper communication with co-authors, maintaining schedules and tracking changes to a post are just some of the tasks that one has to take care of while running a blog. To implement and to manage a collaborative multi author blog we have various plugins available on WordPress. These plugins act as catalyst in not only customizing your blog or website but also in managing the administrative tasks. They help the editor spend more time in producing top notch content rather than handling managerial work. By making efficient use of these plugins you would experience enterprise level collaborative environment right here on your WordPress site or blog. Below is a list of five WordPress plugins that will allow you the ease of collaborating blog posts between more than one author. Test...

What You Should Know About Wordpress

Wordpress is a well-oiled machine! That is honestly the best way to put it. Not only have different developers worked to grow their applications and plugins and widgets, but they have grown with the program. As the program changes, so does the software. How often does Wordpress update? I would guess at least every couple of months. Then what is the first thing that happens? Developers need to check their plugins and make sure they are compatible with the newest update, and should the need arise, make updates. I, for one, get worried when that happens as I have to wait for the updates and for the information that they are compatible or not. If I don’t see a “100% compatible” at the bottom of the plugin list when it’s ready for an update, I won’t even consider updating it. Plugins are what make Wordpress into the amazing machine that it is. At least in terms of what webmasters can use them for. Websites can be built from scratch, one page at a time, with lline by line of code with every single aspect of the website being added to said code OR those who want something templated, well-built and ready...

Why Should I Build My Website In Wordpress?

There are millions of business owners out there who need a website, but these individuals often have no idea of the basic factors they should consider before commissioning anyone to start their web build. Yes, they may start to think about the colours that will be used in the template, they may start sourcing their own images and photos, and they may even take a closer look at a selection of fonts that best reflect their brand. But the people that begin their project with these ideas have already skipped one of the most important decisions they will ever make when it comes to their new venture.   What is this key decision, I hear you cry? They haven’t determined which platform they’re going to use as the foundation for their site! Because they haven’t looked into what’s available to them, they will be relying on the web developer or builder to educate them on their options. Now there are many platforms out there and each has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages. However, one that immediately springs to mind for its versatility, functionality and unrivalled ease of use is Wordpress. What is Wordpress? Wordpress is arguably the biggest open source...
