Mitch MitchellIn the summer of 2010, I was searching for quality blogs and I've landed on I'm Just Sharing, blog which cover many topics related to blogging, writing, social media, etc with magical touch of Mitch Mitchell. Since that day, I am reading Mitch blog every single day, probably I can say that Mitch is one of my best online friends that I hope I will meet in person one day!

Hi Mitch, please introduce your self with few words to our readers.
My name is Mitch Mitchell and I'm a serial blogger, as well as an independent consultant.  I write 5 blogs for myself, 3 blogs for others, and manage 4 other blogs as well.  I'm also an independent consultant, incorporated, doing business in a number of fields:  health care finance, leadership/management education, SEO/social media, writing.

I know that you are also writing books, tell us a bit more about your books
My main published book is called Embrace The Lead, self published but official as I have ISBN numbers for it.  It's a book on leadership and management.  I have an ebook called Using Your Website as a Marketing Tool which is geared towards small businesses with websites.  I have a CD series called Keys To Leadership which is also about leadership and management.  I have a webinar I market called Social Media, SEO & Your Business.  And I have other products geared towards businesses and leadership.

Why did you start blogging?
I initially started blogging because I'd read something in 2005 saying that business blogging was a way to enhance your website.  I'd also been kind of blogging for years on one of those vanity sites where you can hide your name, more like what blogging started as in the late 90's.  I grew to love blogging and thus is the reason I do it a lot.

Where do you find inspiration?
I tend to see almost everything as a story, and thus I can pretty much write whenever I want to.  Even if I'm a part of it, I start recording things in my mind so that I can talk about them later on.  I find that there are so many things going on daily that I can relate to other topics, which is kind of fun.

What is your typical day routine?
It depends on if I have projects or not for the most part and when I go to bed, as I tend to stay up really late.  If I go to bed on time and don't have a meeting in the morning I start off by going to the gym and putting my time in.  If I don't go to bed on time then I start off the morning checking my email and getting to email I might not have had time for the previous day.  I make a quick check on Twitter after that only to see if the day's scheduled articles have hit, and then it's time for work.  I work until noon, break for news and hopefully to eat, and take care of any errands.  Then I work some more until usually 3:30, take a nap, then social media stuff or whatever I feel like until around 9PM.  Then I start working again, which includes whatever blogging I need to do, because I do my best work in the evening, and if I get to bed by 2AM that's a good day.

Content, Design or Networking? Which is most important and how to you prioritize this?
For me, content is always first since I have so much to produce.  And I like this part.  Networking comes next because if I don't do it then I'm just writing for myself, and that won't help bring me income.  Design is always last unless I'm getting paid to try to design something.  I'm one of those people who creates something once then almost never changes it other than small, quick things.  In general I like coding, but I hate designing, if that makes sense.

Are you active at social network like Facebook,Google Plus and Twitter. Do you have any tips, tricks on social media to share with our readers?
I'm active on all the main social media networks, and I talk and try to educate others on how to use them both for business and pleasure.  I have a lot of articles on one of my blogs about it, but the main tips I'll put out there are to not get overwhelmed by it all and that every social media platform isn't for everybody.  If you don't have time to devote to it then don't even start.  And by the way, blogging is one of the major components of social media; many people seem to miss this one.

What would be the biggest mistake you’ve made as a blogger?
I think the biggest mistake I've made is that I only created one of my blogs with the intention on trying to make any money from it.  For as much as I write I should be bringing in some kind of income on all of them, but only one of them generates any income.  Good thing I have other ways of making money.

Your top 3 tips for bloggers?
The first tip is if you don't think you can find anything to write about on some kind of consistent basis for at least 2 or 3 years don't even start.

The second tip is to realize that you don't have to niche yourself so finitely that you can't think of anything to write about.  Almost everything in the world can be expanded upon in creative ways.  For instance, my finance blog offers education on many things financial that people might not have thought about, many tips on how to save money with every day things, and commentary on the financial world.  Every day in the world there's at least 50 things going on that pertain to finances somewhere; the skies the limit.

The third tip is to remember that content comes first, but it's not the last stage.  You have to prospect to get visitors to your blog, comment on other people's blogs, make sure people know when you've written something new, etc.  There's a great community of people out there, all around the world, waiting for you to meet them.

Blogging Goals 2012?
My main blogging goal is to totally increase my income to the point where blogging pays all my bills so I can concentrate on other things easier.  That hasn't really been my goal before, as my goal was for all my online activities.  However, blogging should add to that, and I still have a long way to go.

Thank you very much Mitch, I am sure that your interview and tips will help a lot to our readers that are lost and looking to learn from the best. Here are some of Mitch blogs:
