  1. Canonicalization: A process which pinpoints the more relevant or appropriate URL when a webpage has multiple URL’s, which generally is the homepage. In absence of this process, a search engine will find it difficult to decide upon the best URL.

It is a link which redirects you to another document or site on clicking. It is displayed in a different colour, within the written text. On clicking the text, the search engine determines and cross checks the relevancy of the matter and redirects the user to the link.

  5. Indexing: In simple words, the process employed by search engines of storing your webpage into its database and providing it to users on demand. An un-indexed webpage does not exist for the search engine. Thus it can be concluded that it is a very essential process for all practical purposes.

  6. CMS: Content Management Systems is an application which enables a user to create and edit online content without much difficulty. A fine example of such a system is “Word Press”. Such systems are so user friendly that even a user with basic internet knowledge is able to create and edit online content. The content may be only text and pictures or multimedia.

  7. Link Juice: Like fruit juice is good for your health the same way Link juice is good for your site’s health. It is the power achieved by your site from internal and external links. These links enhance the domain authority and page rankings of your webpage.

  8. Link Rot: Happens with all of us many times. Click on a link and an error message is displayed "Error 404", "Page not found". This happens when linked pages are removed and the link still keeps pointing to the removed pages. This is known as Link death or Link Rot. Link rot adversely affects your page rankings. Definitely not good for your webpage.

  9. Citation: The ultimate goal of SEO technology is to make your website prominent and to bring it at the forefront. There in comes the role of Citation. Citation means NAP information, simply translating into Name Address Phone number. Your site gets picked up by search engines by matching online NAP information of your business. The more accurate your citation shall be; the more chances of your page getting preference shall be.

  10. Session: Simply defined as the time duration in which a user arrives and leaves a site or webpage. It starts when the user arrives and ends when he leaves the site or gets timed out.

  11. Traffic: It basically means counting and tracking the number of users that have visited a site, how much time they have spent on the site and how many pages has a user viewed on your site.
