How HTML5 is Helping Bloggers, Businesses and Users Alike

It only takes one click to get a web user hooked. But if your site can’t pull them in with engaging content and easy navigation, your readers are more likely to “bounce” -- or head to another site after only visiting one page of content. The good news is that if you’re opting for HTML5, you just might be able to hold their interest. HTML5’s improved features are already helping to cut down bounce rates for sites like Vimeo, a leading video-hosting service. In fact, when it comes to building web pages that provide the most memorable user experiences, one could really learn a lot from Vimeo. Already known for its high-quality videos, Vimeo recently rebuilt its default player using HTML5 in order to provide much quicker load times for its users. The results, as it turns out, have been quite remarkable. Because HTML5 doesn’t require web browsers to install additional plug-ins, some of their videos will now only take a second to load -- yes, literally, one second -- according to Vimeo’s Senior Application Engineer, Brad Dougherty. Think about what a one-second loading time means for a web user. No more clicking on a link and queuing up another tab...

The Authenticity of HTML 5 as Revolutionary Web Technology

HTML 5 has arrived on the development scene with a bang! The introduction of this technology is a welcome change especially for the developer fraternity who can now deliver responsive and interactive web solutions that meet the changing requisites of the audience. HTML 5 is known to make the web scenario more reactive and responsive, in sync with the user’s evolving web actions. The platform is best suited for developing web apps and portals that demand game-like interactivity, without the need of installing additional plug-ins. Developers are favoring HTML 5 because it is mobile optimized and can support websites based on all three interfaces- mobile, PC and tablet. One can effectively utilize HTML 5 to tailor applications suitable for mobile commerce and other mobile-based websites. There are numerous other technologies budding in the IT arena, but none of them can possibly make a stand in front of HTML 5. Even arch-rival Adobe had to witness a face-down, when late Mr. Steve Jobs denied using its Flash technology, especially for mobile platforms. HTML 5 is the web technology of future. As per the predictions of Silicon Valley investor Mr. Roger McNamee, the future of HTML 5 is bright. It will lure media...

Chrome Developer Tools In the past years I was quite happy using Firefox and web development Add-ons – Firebug and Web Developer. This year I switched to Google Chrome and Chrome Developer Tools. There are several reasons for this turn.  Tools are based on WebKit’s web inspector (a part of the open source WebKit project) but include a number of enhancements. Often I am working or testing websites which are cached and gzipped, with other tools it is very difficult to see from where things are coming and going I found out that with Chrome Developer Tools, everything is on fingertips. Currently there is an Experimental API for developer that would like to extend the tool even further. You can view the video here. Twitter Bootstrap Bootstrap is Twitter's toolkit for CSS for mobile apps, social apps, website and more.
