Put Rocket Fuel Into Your Social Media Accounts with Social Safe

For many people online social networking is virtually synonymous with communication, and has in fact become the ideal or even preferred way to reconnect with old friends, stay connected to a circle of special people, and forge new relationships. Far from feeling impersonal, many online groups mimic the close connections often present in relatively small communities and established neighborhood subdivisions that are often missing from daily experiences. Accordingly, this safe feeling often belies the need for precautionary measures to protect carefully constructed online social networks, but Social Safe may be a wonderful tool for safeguarding your accounts against being inadvertently deleted, purposely hacked, or merely lost. Battle of the Titans: Facebook vs Google

A true clash of the titans: Facebook and Google, the Internet’s most trafficked websites, go head to head in a close competition to control the internet. Google’s most recent step into the world of social networking is a direct shot at Facebook’s industry. Rumors that Facebook will be incorporating a search engine into Facebook’s homepage is clearly a direct shot back. With business overlapping, comparison between the two internet giants are inevitable. Let’s discuss the numbers. Both websites are heavily trafficked; the Internet heavyweights are dealing with millions, if not billions, of unique visitors monthly. Google, however, has the clear numbers advantage. Google recently secured over a billion unique visitors, while Facebook significantly lagged behind with only 713 million unique visitors. Google’s number advantage decreases within the United States. Google had a 155 million unique visitors compared to Facebook’s 140 million during a one month span. The average time spent by each unique visitor on these websites is also an essential statistic to understanding the way they stack up. Facebook’s average visitor spends over six hours monthly on their website, whereas Google’s visitors spend under two hours. By this comparison, significantly more time is spent on Facebook than on Google. Revenue,...

Facebook plays catch-up to Google+’s Privacy Settings, Google+ Should Worry

Facebook is in the process of updating its privacy settings, which is probably the most criticized issue Facebook has encountered. The improvements have been organized around two broad areas: privacy settings on your profile and on new things you share. Facebook is in the process of updating its privacy settings, which is probably the most criticized issue Facebook has encountered. The improvements have been organized around two broad areas: privacy settings on your profile and on new things you share. Facebook recently made the announcement over at its official blog. But, interestingly and tactfully enough, Big Blue made no mention of its rising competitor, Google+. It is quite possible that these updates have been in the works for some time, but I’d be wary of a complete disregard to Google+ having zero influence on the matter. Profile Privacy The goal of the changes is to make privacy settings more understandable and remove the series of confusing clicks to find the settings. A large part of the changes revolve around moving privacy controls right next to the things they affect: anything from a status update to a tagged photo. Now, content on your profile will have an icon next to it and...
